Obstacles
Um, 2022 is not starting so great for me. I hope that’s not true for you; however, we all face obstacles during life. What do you do when you hit that bump in the road or even worse drive straight to a dead end? Attitude makes a huge difference in the journey of life.
So far I was diagnosed with COVID and we’ve had major snow that shut down everything. Due to COVID, I could not meet with any face-to-face clients and not everyone loves Zoom. What can I control and what can’t I control? I cannot control how others react. I have a great support system through my church, Northfield, in Gallatin. Client however are not as understanding. Many people contact me and when they want something they want it now. If I cannot deliver, they move on to the next person. Court will not wait for me to get better either.
What can I control? I’m doing everything I am supposed to per medical personnel. COVID is dragging out. I cannot smell or taste anything. I am always congested and have trouble breathing. I’m also tired. My body is going to heal at the pace it wants to and that means I cannot do too much. I spend much time resting and drinking fluids. I remind myself this is temporary. Eventually I will get better and be out in the world again. I will have new clients again. Being forced to sit still has made me realize how much I do when I am healthy. So is this an obstacle or an opportunity?
I’ve decided this is an opportunity. My body is demanding rest and so rest it will get. I cannot move around much so I have time to be still, be quiet (my voice won’t cooperate anyway), and listen. Maybe instead of forging ahead on the path I was on, there is a different path to explore.
Everyone be safe. COVID is real. I’m vaccinated and got it anyway. There is no dollar amount to put on a healthy body. For those of you who are healthy, go out and make the most of today.
